The Speed of Light in Real Time

Показать описание
How fast is the speed of light? This video explores the true scale of the universe by simulating travel at light speed and beyond. Starting from outside the Milky Way, we move through cosmic objects like Andromeda, the Pleiades, and even our Solar System. Watch as the limits of light speed reveal just how unimaginably vast the universe is. From 1x the speed of light to trillions of times faster, this journey will change how you see the cosmos and our place within it. Perfect for space enthusiasts and anyone curious about the true scale of the universe.

Remember folks, this video is meant to give a grasp of the speed of light by using multipliers to demonstrate its motion. This video is NOT meant to adhere to relativity. That’ll come in a later video. Thanks for watching!

The funny thing is, in reality when you traveling at the speed of light it will be feel instantaneous due to the time dilation.

The fact that we need to go at 50.000.000.000x the speed of light to "actually" start moving. Insane. Incredible. Scary.

I never understood the true vastness of space until we kept trying to accelerate our simulated light speed and the milky way didn’t budge in our field of view. Amazing.

i think the universe needs an update, the speed of light being the speed limit is just slow as hell

Speed of light is incredibly fast on earth, but it becomes a snail place in the vast space.

For you fellow Trekkies:

1x Lightspeed is WF 1
100x LS is ~WF 4
1000x LS is ~WF 8

Warp drive is actually pretty slow, and it would take about half a year to travel from the Sol System to the Pleiades star cluster at 1000 times the speed of light, while traveling at 5, 551x LS would take only 28 days, or a little under a month, at the max cruising speed of an Intrepid class.

But that's still only 440 lightyears, which makes up but a tiny fraction of the space between the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies.

Legendary algorithm pull, thank you for this video, it really puts into perspective how big the cosmos is in reality. The speed of light is insignificant in the cosmic scale.

I don’t think I ever understood the true Scale of the universe until now watching this and for that I must thank you.

Also an reasonable mention, moving at light speed means the world would warp wildly around you, turn blue, and become much brighter in the direction you’re moving, and black nothingness in the direction you’re moving away.

Finally. A description of how to present "The Scale of Perception". How to present the difference between the 8 minutes between Earth and the Sun, and the 130 thousand Light Years across the Milky Way galaxy in a meaningful way is a novel approach to understanding how to present many mathematically complex portrayals of the Universe.

The lack of music in the end is a nice touch, because almost nothing will exist anymore.

mindboggling video, really puts the scale of space into an understandable perspective

My Wife can move 3 times the speed of light if it involves a Chocolate bar.

I'd suggest that light speed is not so much a "speed limit" as much as its the limit according to our current information.
100 years ago we barely had planes. Who knows what we will discover is truly possible given enough time and research?

I need a projector pointing up at my ceiling with a constant video of flying through random spaces within our universe.

Imagine in the grand calculus of space and time in the vast universe, we sre like single atom in the entire universe scale. Life is finite one time moments, cherish, love and enjoy...

Very nice video, thanks for making this. Helped me visualise and explain light speed to my daughter.

This reminds me of accidentally flying to fast and overshooting your target in Elite Dangerous.

This just speaks to how vastly enormous our universe is. Consider a situation, where you can travel at a speed that's a trillion trillion times faster than the speed of light. But if you're dropped at a random point in the universe, it's pretty much impossible you'll ever find your way back to Earth, despite all that speed you have. It's terrifying to think about.

Wow, in space light is so insignificant!
