I know this is a very late comment but I have been building diy mkultras recently using stainless steel beads, and something I found is that the beads I got (prob similar if not the same to the ones you have) weren't just a 90 degree edge, they actually had a burr on the inside that was causing a ton of fraying. I wasn't able to find any 3.5mm bore stainless beads, so I ended up using a tapered diamond serrated knife sharpener to file down the inside of the beads to be smooth and haven't had issues since. The 90 degree edge will fray the cord, but that on its own shouldn't cut through the cord like what you were experiencing.

I use 10mm steel ball with 3mm hole, and then I use my round small metal file on the hole to rid it of the lip. It’s worked really well.

The descriptions say the bore diameter but just in case they don't fit your desired cord, just use a drill and get the drillbit of the size you need and drill them wider, they go through very smoothly, even on wood and hard resin. I did that to several resin and acrylic beads to fit 275 paracord to make some komboloi sets and it worked perfectly, there are some cases where you might need to use a razor cutter to scrape the sharpness on the edges of the bores but you don't affect the looks and even help the cord to slide smoothly

Original thread hole is 1mm in most, or 1.5mm. Kind a interesting to see that you are using such thick cord. But design is very nice, especially with red one.

If you want a tile style, 3D printing with a high quality 3D printer and ABS or other stable plastic (not PLA) but tolerances would not be as tight as the highly machined ones.

You can find some beads or buy completed from abroad, just nobody targeting west market and using local websites to sell, or on youtube plenty of channels, search "перекидные четки". That one "remeshok" is not a classical but hybrid of chyotki and komboloi. I would not consider it as classical. And btw it pronounced like chyotki, like "yo" in yogurt. Nice video.
