The Beatles - Love Me Do - Guitar Cover

This is George Harrison's rhythm guitar part for Love Me Do. This is a great song for beginners to guitar because it only uses 3 chords and easy strumming patterns. Notice how George doubled Paul's bassline during the bridge on the D major chord. He plucks the D string on beat 1 and the A string on beat 3. Enjoy!

Recorded with a Gibson J-160E Standard with a Audio-Technica AT2035 Condensor microphone.

Both he and John Lennon had this exact same model of acoustic/electric the year this song first came out.

The funny thing was: they eventually traded between each other, and the one that in fact used to be registered to George (serial no. 73157) somehow got left behind in 1963, and John purchased an identical one in 1964. Somehow, a San Diego man named John McCaw eventually found John [Lennon's] lost J160E, and had kept it in his possession until being listed in 2015 at Julien's auctions, where it sold for $2.4 million.

In middle school we learned about the Beatles and basic acoustic guitar playing. We had to learn a little bit of a Beatles song from a list and play individually to the teacher. I played the "love, love me do" part mainly a few times over. I was so slow when I had to change chords lol.

Very good observation on George's role on the bassline on the D and A chord.

Hi, I've recently seen this exact same guitar for sale, but it has a satin finish. Do you have any idea on what that is? I can't seem to find any information about a satin finish J-160E online or anywhere.

hi mate, don't worry if this question is irrelevant, I saw a J160e online that cost around USD1500, and it's got an unadjustable saddle, I wonder if it is fake.
