DJI mini 3 pro: gimbal noise 'IMU attitude error'

preview_player
Показать описание
Had a small tumble into a bush and the gimbal makes a steady noise now.
The error that switches at the end is 'IMU attitude error'

I had the very same problem, I couldn't see the crack till I used a magnifying glass. I put some glue as somebody suggested and the noise is totally gone! I couldn't believe that, thank you for the video and everyone for the comments!

I had the same crack in the same place as your drone. And I had the same noise. I carefully glued the crack from the front and the back. It helped and now it works properly

Check the gimbal arm close to the round base, mostly the right side, there is a tiny or thin crack, use a magnifying glass to see, drop a few instant glue and it should be ok...

One thing i can recommend for short term use is taking off right arm cover of the gimbal (the thin plastic piece can snap on and off) and putting a piece of paper in between the gimbal motor and cover making sure the piece of paper pushes slightly against the gimbal motor and putting the cover back on ifixit has a tutorial on how to do this but I wouldn’t recommend doing this at all because you are going to put unwanted stress on the rubber part of the gimbal

The cable that runs from the gimbal may be damaged the noise is coming from the motors high frequency pitch it happens after a crash needs to be stripped down and check connections to the motors you can access the motor connections by removing the plastic cover at the back of the gimbal and below it

Yep, mine started doing that aswell after I dropped it on the ground... slightest touch and it went quiet, but noise came back as soon as i let go.
I did the paper trick and that did quiet it down but the video was shaking sometimes. Changed motor on the right side, which moves gimbal up and down, and that didn't change anything. Then I changed the bearing on the other side where the gimbal cable goes through, and it seems like that did the trick. It had very tiny movement side to side.. Haven't tested the video, but I can't replicate the noise as before.
Looks like it takes slightest movement in some if the parts and the whole gimbal starts to oscillate, it is crazy to think how precise and sensitive the thing is and we are dropping them on the ground left and right 😂

mines making a weird noise on boot-up ONLY when the gimbal looks upwards, but when it's fully on it makes no noise

I had recently crashed mine and it is doing the same exact noise. I had just sent it yesterday to DJI for repair. Stupid me, I don't have refresh so I will be paying out of pocket. I don't know what the cost is yet as they need to inspect it first to give me an estimate. The manager at DJI said that the gimbal is the most expensive an sensitive part of the drone. Word of advice, don't fly the gimbal with the Gimbal Guard on! Lesson learned

Same problem. I just placed my thumb between the camera and the right rotating hinge and pressed the hinge in a sideways motion with firm pressure (don't over do it though) it works but I find I have to do this every few flights.

I was very lucky that my drone didn't break into pieces when it fell to the ground, I had the same crack in the gimbal with the same noise with the message "gimbal motor overloaded" and the recording of the camera blurry and moves in all directions! As I live in a country where there are no DJI after-sales services...I glued the arm of the gimbal carefully on the front and back now it holds very well but I ordered the arm from Aliexpress and it costs 29 US Dollars while waiting to receive it and change it at a technician I have fun with my DIY.

Cracked @ the bottom of the gimbal causing the annoying noise. Either you glue them (easy fix) or replace the bottom part.

Yup, small crack under and behind gimbal base. Gonna add some glue

had the same issue, there was a small crack! I fixed it with a bit of super glue!

Mine started to do the same thing ……I noticed that when I do an imu calibration it goes away. Seems to be related to accidentally starting the drone on a non level surface or with the clear shield on…..

Had a really bad fall onto cement and the gimbal had the same noise with shaky footage.
After close inspection, I found out that the gimbal had a crack at exactly the same spot as in the video. I applied superglue to it and the noise and shaking has completely stopped and it is not producing footage just as new. However, the gimbal would vibrate violently at random times.

Vi pelo vídeo que a parte onde trincou do seu gimbal foi o mesmo do meu....veja que dá pra ver na própria filmagem que fez.
