Just so people don't get too confused. He is describing an all in one device that combines a switch, wireless AP, router, and firewall. A true router only controls traffic between separate IP networks.

Here is a small side note for people who don't understand why you need a modem AND a router:
The modem has only one ethernet port. You can hook it to a device that supports ethernet, bu if you have wireless devices and/or multiple ethernet devices you have to get a router in order to split it between devices.

Hey Bucky, watching these is confusing me, because, I have AT&T, and what happens is a green coloured wire goes from my telephone line, into my router, and my router, which doesn't have antennae, works wirelessly and on wires... So, pretty much, your advice gets negated entirely, as I have neither a modem, or a wireless router which uses the large antennae.

Hey! you are Weldon, i really have a project before me that needs connections of like ten routers to work as one. i have been able to set three up and its working properly but as a new and a young contractor i don't really wanna risk buying ten routers and i will later discover its not possible. have you done such a thing before? really need reply via my email thanks in anticipation

antennas are for wireless connection ? really? I thought they were flag poles
