Apps that minimize data collection can help us regain control over our personal information, while still allowing us to enjoy the convenience of our smartphone. While these alternatives may lack some of the features or integrations of their mainstream counterparts, they better protect your privacy, and are worth considering for a privacy-aware person.

It’s important we make choices that align with our values and needs, and choosing privacy-focused apps is a good way to signal to the market that we value our privacy.

Without Naomi YouTube would be a horrendous experience.

My biggest struggle with such things is to convince my girls that the extra bit of work/inconvenience is worth it. While they see the problem of having to give up privacy, they also have difficulty dealing with the alternatives.

Great information as ever Naomi. I'm glad I don't stream music (I listen to records and CDs) and only read physical books but I do listen to podcasts. There's always something to be careful about when using it. Thank you once again.

I don't own a cell phone, landline or even my own computer, I just click on these videos cause Naomi is so gorgeous & adorable. She does have good info to protect ourselves digitally from the dystopian narcissistic data suckers.

Hey Nay. I love your videos. Whilst I find it difficult to action all of your recommendations I do what I can. I had a question/a video idea for you. What are the things one should do to maximise (I know they'll still get a lot of info regardless) privacy within the ios and Android systems when one first gets a new phone. For example your wifi and hotspot video was eye-opening. Something like that once done can't be undone. Thank you for your content!!!

The thing that puts people off messing with phones is what if something goes wrong. If it was a simple case of installing Graphene, most would do it. What stops them is not knowing if it will work and the things in place to stop you bricking a £1000 phone. Then there is how to restore it if it doesn't work.
That's the biggest barrier.

I use my own Emby server for my music and movies. Its a smart idea to use a home NAS server.

Jellyfin is even more prived but I have Emby all ready installed so...

Whenever I watch one of Naomi's videos, I'm reminded of what a good choice it was to not have a smartphone.
