Former advisor on why Kamala Harris is ‘concerned’ to debate Donald Trump

Former Trump senior advisor Christian Whiton has weighed in on why US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are at odds over their first head-to-head debate.

The Harris campaign is pushing for a debate to take place on ABC News but Trump says the ABC debate has been “terminated”.

Instead, the former US president is pushing for a Fox News debate with Ms Harris on September 4.

“I don't know why Harris is concerned,” Mr Whiton said.

“The two debate moderators who are proposed are considered very fair and frankly would throw some hard balls at Donald Trump.

“So I think Kamala Harris, they're trying to pull a Biden, they're trying to see if she can pull ahead in the polls with the help of the media and by not exposing yourself to the public.”

Trump agreed with a debate on ABC with Biden. He did not agreed to an ABC debate with Harris. Harris wants to debate on ABC because she is more likely to be given the debate questions in advance. Like CNN gave Hillary the debate questions.

Last week in a hostile environment for black journalists, Trump got the crowd laughing, and whooping, and some jeering from the haters. But I noticed he was perfectly comfortable but one could tell by the tone of the reporter's voice that it rattled her. He did the same thing with another way too inexperienced reporter on a CNN town hall format some months ago. This is why they don't want a crowd. They have finally learned that he is at his best in front of a crowd. Even if some of them are hostile, he just stands his ground and comes across looking strong and fearless.

I believe the reason why she doesn't want to debate is obvious.
When she first became VP she didn't handle interviews very well.
If they asked her a pressing question, that she didn't know how to answer, she would break out in the giggle of hers and that became her trade mark.
Or come up with something like, "And I've never been to Europe."
