I appreciate the transparency and research shared on the matter. It’s a bit daunting how quickly apparent it becomes that much of what is “known” about these particular fossils, the actual creatures they belonged to, is just presumed, albeit educated, conjecture. It’s possible the Ammonite [interesting choice of name] carapace could have belonged to an entirely different species and period in time which would maybe tell a different story, who knows. Verily it is a enjoyable mystery to ponder
