Armchair Rockstar with Corey Noles is a channel focused on the gigging (and gigless) musician. We aim to both educate against the pitfalls experienced by countless players and also be a one-stop site for everything the music lover needs. Essentially, we're here to help you transition from the chair to the stage.

The channel covers musician tips & tricks, guitar gear reviews, basic repair lessons and interviews with industry professionals. From time to time we'll also be weighing in on industry news as it happens.

So, if you're a musician young or old -- new or experienced, this channel is designed with you in mind. We hope to create an atmosphere where more seasoned musicians can pass along their knowledge to the next generation.

We played a similar gig. Right off the bat I knew something was wrong, and the drummer knew just as quick. Something just sounded horrible. I go to my rythm player and tell him to tune, he does and nothing changes. We faked the set and the crowd loved the show, but the musicians in the crowd were like wtf. I was trying to figure out who was out of tune or who was playing the wrong chords/ notes. Long story short, after a rough few days the lead player and "best" musician in the band at the time had lent his tuner to another band and the settings got changed. He played the 30 minute set a half a step that was embarrassing

One of my first shows ever we had put flyers out to self promote and a woman came up to us and asked if we would be willing to play a party at a place called house of pizza. We all got excited we all showed off our tats and looked all metal as you do. When we got to the pizza place we saw tons of balloons and streamers we looked at each other like wtf. The birthday boy walked in all 6 years old of him and a bunch of kiddos. We were doomed lol. Well we played puff the magic dragon and i did a bit of twinkle little star but we played musical chairs and made the best of it. We made some cash and had pizza that was almost 30 years ago wow

So I have definitely had stuff like this happen... we were playing a show outside during summer here in ca.. I was playing on a borrowed Fender 5150 second song in and the amp keeps turning off? not sure why so i keep turning it back on then the fan comes on.. and the speaker no longer works and the screws are melting into the amp... I was the lead guitarist so I started to panic are rhythm guitar player was also the singer so I took his amp and just let him sing while I played only Rhythm no lead... It was horrible....but we made it through.... also it seems like any gear you've had over the years will break as soon as you play a show lol

Sounds like a real shit show. I broke a low e string on stage recently, swapped guitars but accidentally kicked my mic away from my amp. On top of that the house sound system was cutting out on my guitar. It really sucked but what can you do?
