Why UWF Online for Nurses?

According to the Institute of Medicine report from 2010 "The Future Of Nursing," the goal for 2020 has been to get to 80% of nurses being at the bachelorette or higher level.

- [Cynthia] I came back to school and got my BSN after obtaining my RN. It really opened a lot of doors for me. I really appreciate online learning.

- [Jessica] I'm doing the online program because my life is crazy. I'm married, I have two small kids. I have an almost four-year-old and a five-month-old. I love them to death, but I don't have time to go to face to face classes. I don't think very many people do these days. It's been a really good experience.

- [Angela] Having BSN prepared nurses and MSN prepared nurses on staff in healthcare institutions is important particularly as healthcare institutions are working toward magnet status. A certain percentage of their RN's must be BSN or MSN prepared.

- One of the things that makes our program special is really the faculty, the diversity of the faculty. We have faculty aboard with all different experiences, and they bring all of those experiences into the classroom real world experiences, and it helps to add to the discussions. It helps the content be richer and more engaging for the students.

- [Randall] The faculty are very, very much available for the students. Most of the faculty put their cellphone number right on their syllabus.

- If we ever need anything, they're there to answer our question. They're there to help us learn. I have truly felt like the faculty is there for us. They're very dedicated to their jobs.
