history of japan doesn't get as much credit as it should, as it's always overshadowed by history of the entire world i guess. They're both so good!

If anyone’s looking for a name for that “locked chords” technique, it’s called planing, most famous classically as a favorite technique of Debussy. It also has two types, Diatonic Planing, where the chords move in roughly parallel motion, but stay within the notes of the tonic scale; and Chromatic Planing, where each chord is an exact transposition of the previous one.

I love when editor charles catches stuff that video charles doesnt. Like when video charles accidentally hits a key and editor charles just zooms into the hand

In music, you're basically having a conversation:
🎶🎵There's a question,
🎵🎵There's an answer
🎵 Oo, bit of a dodgey question there

Whats interesting about "the entire history of Japan is that EVERYTHING is in 3/4 or 6/8 time. Which is an odd time signature for Japan because their transitional folk music like Soranbushi (sea shanty) for example, relies on a waltz 1, 2, 3 and tempo.

Even that scale in the beginning is 3 sets of 6!

Watching Charles break down Wursts chords is like watching a professional portrait painter breaking down Pollocks chaos.

Can I just say the zoom in when you accidentally whacked the key at 6:04 is sincerely appreciated

Can you analyze “and the day goes on”? it has a couple chords and lines that I think are so cool and I’d love to see you help explain them!

Surprised to not see any comments about the L I C C at 7:12
Disregard: looked farther into the pit and found the blessed L I C C comments.
