Jimmie said that the team was formed by Maury, but I don't think that's right, Gallagher bought out the portion of RPM that was previously owned by Andrew Merstein in what I believe is called a Leveraged Bailout, Petty was formed long before Gallagher, if you wanna get 100% technical, that team was founded by Ray Evernham and then later it evolved into Richard Petty Motorsports
