In 2018 and 2019 I was for the first time at this lake and I was shocked at how beautiful and clean the air can be. The first impression you make is that you are in HEAVEN!! No words to describe..

The video can't show you how I felt but you can at least get an idea on how beautiful can be in this region out of the world.

Lake Lama (Russian: Лама) is a large freshwater lake (of tectonic origin) in Krasnoyarsk Krai, north-central part of Russia.

Lake Lama is located in the Putorana Plateau area at 69.5172222°N 90.625°E, 140 km east off the city of Norilsk, and has an area of 318 km² (other sources state 460 km²). It is 80 km long and up to 8 km wide (other sources state length of 100 km and width of 20 km) with a depth ranging from 300 to 600 m. Lake Lama is connected with Lake Melkoye by the Lama River.

The lake was surveyed and described for the first time by Russian scientist Nikolay Urvantsev and his colleague Bazanov during an expedition in 1921.

Origin of the name
The hydronym Lama comes from Tungusic word laamu where it mean sea, ocean, big water.

There was no lake named Lama on the map of Russian Asia published in 1911 by the Russian General staff. The lake was pictured very approximately and was named Davydovo.

WOW just WOW Andrew. Simply beautiful, even on I phone 11. Lake Lama. BIG lake Lama. and TREES real TREES. I had a feeling the countryside is lovely, interesting, nice for the eye. And fish? There must be Sturgeon, trout, pike, all kinds of BIG ones there to catch and smoke. The mountains, tree line half way up, bare on top....never seen that. Is that Elena in red coat shooting with a Sony on the boat? stills from Sony or I Phone? Now think if you had the Pocket 2 or a good mirrorless camera with lenses. More of this, and your channel gets more views because your part of the World is so unknown. You say no tourists in the region? Too bad. Lake Lama holiday would be popular. Well thank you man. In Spring, lakes to the north and south, native peoples, big long river Yenesei. So many beautiful adventures with a camera. Oh, and boats, interesting. I owned a big boat on Chesapeake Bay outside DC for 5 years, so I know big boats. I see they ferry you over for a cruise to the Peninsula, and there is a place to stay overnight there and hike around the area, waterfalls, birds, fish. And to the East of Lake Lama, more mountains and the map says no people, just wild mountain country with wildlife. OMG. TAKE A CAMERA best, from American music guy

interesting. your dictionary description of Lake Lama says origin in tectonic, not a glacier. Tectonic means an earthquake created the hole that became a lake, not a Wall of Ice, Glacier. And the area was virtually unmapped and unknown until 1921. I imagine the other big lakes south and north of Norilsk are also beautiful, and hopefully unspoiled. Take your camera and your fishing pole next time so you have big fish to take home and smoke. Next? in Spring, maybe the North Sea and native peoples?

wait in stills, not Elena. and you have fishing pole in one shot...I think it is you. did you catch a fish? I watch again, it is so beautiful country, pine trees a little like Finland, a little, but different.
