Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia has been referenced on this channel a few times, and why not. When I was working on school projects, I would use Compton Encyclopedia, and this release in particular, for my research. As such, I have a strong nostalgic feel for this piece of software. While things like Internet Explorer would drive eventually drive me up the wall, there been nothing but fondness for Compton's Encyclopedia, and why not. They knew how to provide the most awesome of learning experiences for CD-ROM users. Loaded with audio, pictures, and video, there is so much learning to do! The CD-ROM even has the national anthems included as MIDI files. I salute you Compton! Of course, one will need a soundcard with MIDI support (I'm looking at you SB16!) top have that feature. Want to learn about the rich histories and cultures of places like Europe and Japan, complete with pictures and video; well you can now!

Also included is the Compton's Newsroom. There is a lot of video about topical issues like politics, climate change, and other social issues of interest. One can learn about the Civil Rights Movement and the struggles endured by MLK or the fall of Communism in Eastern Europe. For some reason though, this section crashed a lot (like Windows 95 in general) in both PCEM and VMware Player 16.

One would not be disappointed by Compton's Encyclopedia and there rich offering in the field of interactive encyclopedia CD-ROM titles.
