Man idk if I'm missing something regarding why every player defends him. The dude gets a huge contract with stacked teams, he underachieves, blames 1 player for the failure, finds another stacked team, repeats

Can we talk about how good ESPN did on the panel for the doc situation with all players that played for him

If you're gonna give him credit for coaching with Embiid injured, then you gotta talk about the coaching decision of leaving Embiid on the court (up 29 with 4 min left) to get injured in a blowout win...

What I like most about Matt’s takes is that he’s a straight shooter. No BS. No favoritism. Doc has 1 championship with a team of 4 hall of famers yet he’s praised as if he’s Phil, Pop or Kerr. Give any competent Coach that Celtics lineup and they’ll win the Chip. Facts are Doc flamed out in LA. Doc also flamed out in Philly. Regardless of how Ben played last year he shouldn’t have thrown him under the bus. There’s too many other coaches that deserve coaching opportunities. At this point, I feel like Doc needs to become an Asst Coach.

Gotta give Pat Bev kudos for what he´s saying here. He knows what he´s talking about. Has a real good understanding for what´s going on. Props.

Doc is that coach nobody wants to admit is overated. The guy has been riding off that one champioship for nearly 15 yrs and gets countless opportunities to coach some of the best big market teams in the league because the media doesn't hold him accountable.

He's had too many good team put together for him to have any excuse to lose let alone lose 3-1 leads.

KG, Truth, Rondo, Allen and great supporting cast of players

CP3, Blake, DJ and great supporting cast of players

Kawhi, PG13 and great supporting cast of players

Simmons, Embied and great supporting cast of players

I'll give him a pass this season cause Harden sucked but still had a great cast of players

When lakers underperformed, the same media was "fire vogeI", when nets underperformed they said "fire nash". doc's teams have been underperforming for well over a decade, and the media says "it is not doc's fault, it is backstabbing and others to blame". This is while doc has coached the following players in their primes: Paul, Griffin, Jordan, Leonard, George, Embiid, and Harden, among other high caliber players.

Let's have Derek Fisher on next time Matt Barnes is in.

Doc rivers need to go to a small market team. Lol. If he goes to the lakers and they miss the playoffs he’s going to be blamed like Frank Vogel. I think he should go to a small market team and exceed expectations…or just stay in Philly and avoid another mess. Go to Charlotte and coach melo. That’s what he need to do.

Doc Rivers can coach lower level talent like Pat Bev, Lou Will and Trezz but Doc Rivers can't coach high level talent like Kawhi, PG, Embiid

Am I the only one that finds having active players on shows like this odd? No knock to Pat Bev because he gave a fine take, but it just feels odd

Doc Rivers is making $40M from the Sixers? 🤣 He shouldn't be called Doc but Bandit. Another underachieving season coming right up with a stacked team of multiple All-Stars. They'll still underachieve with Bradley Beal.

The Celtics might be headed to a 4th Conference Finals since Doc avoided a "rebuild" while he hasn't been to a single one. To have the players he's had and the continuous shortcomings is inexcusable. At some point, people have to stop going to bat for him as a great coach.

All you people saying it's Doc's fault are funny. You gonna bring in D'Antoni who hasn't done well in the playoffs with the same amount of stars Doc has had. But wait a minute...Doc has a Ring. And he's been in the finals twice. These ballers are babies and want their egos stroked. Play the game. You're making a ton of money. What motivation do you need? Stop blaming the coach. People just want someone to blame. And when he left Embiid in that game with 29 up, so what. Jordan, Malone, Iverson and those guys played all their minutes. You people need to stop.

Morey answered this quickly no hesitation. at least we know where he stands with Doc if he goes down Doc is going down with him.

One of the most overrated coaches. Aside from 08, he failed at Orlando, LA and now philly.

Even if Doc gets fired, he still gets the money that's leftover. So he doesn't care if he gets fired and coaches the Lakers. That's just added income on top of what's owed to him from Philly. Doc is the Gordon Hayward of head coaches.
