You should look into setting up a side-chain compressor to act as “ducking” so that when you speak it will automatically lower the music, and then it’ll bring it back up when you stop speaking.

You will probably need to set the attack very quickly and the release a bit slower for a more natural return; basically what you are doing with your finger, but you won’t get tendonitis !
