Not sure why someone would by any 12V tools unless its M12. All other tool brand 12V tools are just as large as their big brother equivalents. That hercules is massive

at this point, to anyone who is considering those: just go to your local antique shop and pick up an old bit brace for ten bucks. A sorority girl with a bit brace would be able to put down more torque than either of those drills

I wouldn’t buy either of them but for the price they’re not bad and they will do simple home owner stuff. You don’t need Milwaukee or Dewalt to hang pictures or put together cheap furniture from IKEA.

Well i can say once ive gone brushless i dont go back. We use an electric ratchet a lot at my work, most have m12 but a new guy started and used a hyper tough. Still got the job done. Right tool for the right job.

I'd take a $5 old craftsman at a yard sale over those

Up to me, I would get the brushless hyper tough if I wanted a small beater tool to keep in the truck.

Keep in mind this would just be as an emergency don’t have anything to work with kinda tool.

Well, if you need a cheap asf drill to hang a shelf on your wall, They work great.

Damn! So you mean to say 12v drills aren't good at driving 5/16, 6" fasteners!?? Mind officially blown🤯

@Toolswithsoalz you know what's a bigger waste of money going to a wedding you don't want to go to 😂😂😂

I just bought a brushless hyper tough drill with a metal chuck. I know you did a review of the brushless when it was a plastic chuck 2 years ago. I really think they upped the torque since you reviewed yours, mine is solid for the money, probably ridgid brushless level. I also have that installation drill you show here, and for what it’s suppose to do, which is install fasteners, it does it competently

Just subscribed, I’ve gone through and watched practically all your videos. Great stuff! I was curious what your take is on the older Dewalt DCD791, and is it still a relevant drill comparatively to what’s on the current market?
Thanks !

The newer brushless hyper tough drill with the metal chuck isn’t half bad, like it better for light cabinet work/hinges . Same size as m-12 at half power for $38. The 12v die grinder is pretty cool too.

I have a gen 3 Milwaukee 18v but I use that little Hercules more cuz it’s light and easy to move around

I bought the hyper tough drill because they had it for $10 on sale and I have hyper tough stuff so I figured why not. I just use it for little stuff the bigger waste of money is that Hercules but yes they both are😅

I figured the hyper tough was for people that shouldn't own tools.

Pretty sure 12v tools weren’t really meant for driving screws into that thick of wood unless you get a Milwaukee. 12v tools aren’t meant for heavy duty work

We all know the biggest trash of the 12 is the Makita

TBH, anyone who thinks that any 12v power tool will even come close to the M12 Fuel is simply delusional.
That said, I still grab my brushed M12 combo for tasks that I don’t want to use a powerful tool for. I’ve installed latches on my cabinets with it to keep my pets from getting into them, and I recently used it to install a motion sensor on the fascia of my house.
If I were to start over, I’d probably go with the 12v Skil because it has a little more power and better ergonomics than the M12.
