Germany controls the Euro Currency. The European Central Bank is based in Frankfurt. If Scotland joins the EU having broken from the UK, it’ll have to adopt the Euro as its currency whether they like it or not. Brussels would dictate Scotland’s finances and affairs just as it does with all EU members.

What I find intriguing is, what does Scotland have to sell to the rest of the world to keep itself afloat between leaving the UK & joining the Joining the EU is not an overnight affair, even if the EU would be interested in taking on the lame duck that would be Scotland without England. After all, the UK government gave Scotland somewhere in the region of 41 billion pounds in 2021. That is a hell of a lot of whiskey!

Nigel made an excellent point there. “That depends where your borders are.” Do you think Scotlands borders will be allowed to go further that a Scottish limited coast? Oil and gas won't come into it. Which was never mentioned in the Braveheart film so the Saltire face painted brigade won't know.

All I can detect from Mr. Hanvey here is a little hint of "Used Car Salesman, mixed and blended with a large adding of opportunism, when a helping of bragging rights". Sorry Alba Party, but I'm afraid you've made a slightly poor first impression here. Also 9 years is not even a full lifetime of an average human being. Actually the ancient name *'Alba'* is derived from *'Albion'* which was the original name for England and they were both one united land....but then the Romans invaded in 43AD and they later built Hadrian's Wall...over time this caused all the natives living north of that wall to start developing their own national identity = this is the only reason Scotland is now has a separate nation status, but historically it's part of England and still is - truth hurts ?
