Yes, you can use any lens for fashion - there are few creative boundries, but some lenses will serve you better than others. In this video we examine first what goals we're after when shooting fashion or even portraiture. From there we'll explore our options and the effects of those choices through the lens of an actual fashion editorial.

This video features some fabulous e-mount lenses for Sony cameras. If you want to know more about them, please visit:

This video has gotten at least 20 views from me. Seriously of all the fashion photography videos on YouTube I would say this is easily top 5 in terms of information and examples. The explanations for the different use cases are beyond sick. Also this video did get me to actually upgrade to the 24-70 gmii and the lighter weight is already enough to make me happy with that purchase. Plus the tips for getting into publications are something that is always glossed over by so many other videos. So thank you for this.

I'm so out of the loop, still shooting with Canon D5 mkii and 85mm lens for most of my fashion.

Fashion photography and not a single 85mm f1.4. Sony lent the bloke 3 lens, a UW 16-35mm f4, 24-70mm, and 90mm macro and he made it look like these are his go-to lenses. The next video on landscape will deploy the same lens.

This was great! Lots of unique information. Do you feel rounder faces are more "wide-angle friendly" compared to strongly bony/angular ones, or it's too individual to easily categorize like this? Or is it more about the combination of the fit + face? Ps photo at 10:05 is crazy
