Surviving the Witching Hour - Mommy's Own Milk

Показать описание
Need help getting through the mighty Baby Witching Hour? Try the C-SOUND method!
First let’s go over, what is the Baby Witching Hour?
The Baby Witching Hour is a period of time in the evening when a baby gets fussy and may cry for a stretch of about 2-4 hours.
The witching hour usually begins in babies around 2-3 weeks of age and peaks around 6 weeks of age. The witching hour tends to start around 5 to 11 pm and can go into the early hours of about 1-2 am.
Sounds intense, huh? Rest assured, this phase should disappear around 3-4 months of age… but what in the world do you do in the meantime??
Try the C-SOUND method:
C – CHANGE – Change your baby’s diaper and dress him/her in bedtime clothes (ideally a footed onesie with built in mitten cuffs and a sleep sack). Are you wondering, why a onesie with built in mitten cuffs? Because it will save you from getting all scratched up if your little one has long nails 😉.
S – SWADDLE – Swaddle your baby in a thin breathable cotton blanket
O – OFF – Turn off the lights. You can use a very dim red night light so you’re not fumbling around in the dark
U – UP – Turn up the sound machine
N – NURSE – Nurse your baby while…
D – DOWN – Sitting down
