On the night of Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Briana Bonds, a 20-year-old woman from Kansas City, Missouri, survived a gunshot to the head in a remarkable incident. After informing her ex-boyfriend, Juan, that she no longer loved him, he fired a shot through the back window of her mid-’90s Pontiac, shattering the glass and striking her in the back of the head. Miraculously, Briana remained conscious despite the injury. Upon arrival at the hospital, doctors discovered that the bullet had lodged in her tightly woven hair weave, which had absorbed the impact and prevented the bullet from penetrating her skull. Briana credited her survival to divine intervention, stating, “I think God was in my passenger seat.” She was treated for her injuries and made a full recovery.
