This video is an introduction to Medical Genetics Summaries (MGS), a resource at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). MGS is a growing collection of currently 50 articles which synthesize pharmacogenomic evidence to provide practical information about genetic testing to guide drug therapy.

MGS aims to help clinicians act on the results of a pharmacogenetics test to identify responders and non-responders prior to or during therapy, avoid adverse events, and optimize the initial drug dose by enabling access to a peer-reviewed, up-to-date summary of the latest literature, a quick review of the drug, and how to use the patient’s genotype to guide therapy and the therapeutic recommendations from the FDA and professional and medical societies.

The intended audience of MGS is clinicians who seek practical, evidence-based information to use in clinical care settings.
