UAW strike: How the Big 3 could have been more empathetic to workers

Striking auto workers threaten to expand their picket lines to other facilities yet again if Big Three automakers Ford (F), General Motors (GM), and Stellantis (STLA) fail to make any sort of progress in negotiations. Workplace Culture Strategist and Speaker Jennifer Moss explains how worker empathy and loss of trust in employers are fueling the United Auto Workers' (UAW) demands for certain concessions to be recognized. "The most frustrating part for... a lot of the folks that are striking right now, and why they're striking, is that they were made promises to... play a role in helping these large organizations — huge, big companies — be able to weather the financial crisis," The Burnout Epidemic author explains. "And so what's happened is... they don't feel like the promises have been delivered. And that reduces trust, that makes people say 'what's the point? why am I doing this?'" Moss also comments on overall work stoppage and unionization trends across the labor force. 32 hour standard work-week is being totally mischaracterized.
There is actually a bill H.R. 4728 which reintroduced the 32 hour standard work-week into congress.
The Thirty-Two Hour Workweek Act would reduce the federal definition of the standard workweek from 40 to 32 hours per week, by kicking in overtime pay under federal law at the 33rd hour rather than the 41st.

It would not actually *mandate *a 32-hour workweek.

The bill was introduced in the House on July 27 as H.R. 4728, by Rep. Mark Takano (D-CA41).

Unfortunately,
Automakers CEO’s is all beholden to their share holders. They don’t give a damn about autoworkers. That’s the reality.

Well, I guess when your losses & investments are Socialized, and your Profits are Privatized, you start to pretend that nobody notices that your greed is getting in the way of the public welfare.

Yes, yes lets praise the Unions for creating more irreversible inflation. Irreversible inflation is when wages go up to match the raise in inflation, but will never come down.

It’s simple, the cost of living is up 20%. Wages are stagnant.
