As much as people hate to admit it, alcohol and boating dont mix.

His friends brag about how they called him "Vinny shots" but didn't think his drunkenness played a part in his death. Lmao.

Absurd to blame another for a persons bad decisions no life vest, alcohol and bad conditions to be out on the water

Vincent WAS a good man. I think his own negligence was the reason he died that day. It sucks. And it’s really sad. But that doesn’t mean we can punish an innocent person for it.

Police should not be able to batter people verbally for 11 hours to get a false confession.

How on earth can the Coroner make a judgement that his death was a homicide caused by the removal of the plug?
He is not a crime investigator but merely a Coroner who can only make a finding on what he sees on the body.
Speculation or guessing is unlawful and unprofessional and l hope she sued the Coroner for wrongful arrest.

We need legislation to protect people from these marathon interogations. You can't isolate a person who's suffered trauma, rail at them for over a full shift, sometimes 18 hours, and expect them not to have psychological responses that are not healthy or normal. False confessions are almost always the result of prolonged 'interrogation'/torture session. I don't think she did anything intentional to cause his death.

"My son is perfect, I don't like his fiancée so let's blame her for my sons stupid mistakes, " got it.

It is sad that Vincent died but I surely don't think they have proven that Angelika is guilty of the charges

I'm 10 minutes in, and the amount of poor decision making by these people is astounding. Insisting on going kayaking so late in the day, in rough 46 degree waves, with no life jacket?? I'm sorry the victim died, but at some point staying alive on this planet takes more than a little common sense.

I had an investigator tell me once when someone has a loved one die unexpectedly, they always look for someone else to blame. They cannot accept their loved one could do anything so irresponsible or permanent to themself.
I feel sad that Vincent lost his life, but condemning Angelika to years in prison is equally sad. Two wrongs don’t make a right and punishing her for his negligence and poor decision making is very disturbing. The police and Vinny’s family ruined her life.

Two last things: 1.) I kayak quite frequently and I’ve done so multiple times with the drain plug out and in bad weather (as it can change quickly). I have never done that without the use of my life jacket and added alcohol into the equation either.
2.) As multiple people mentioned her personality quirks or behaviors, I believe she wasn’t very emo the evening of and day or so after his death is possibly due to shock and/or denial. As far as getting bent out of shape over the cat, I believe any animal lover could become enraged over someone withholding their beloved baby from them.

Cold, getting windy, dark, no life west - perfect for kayaking

If he was responsible enough to wear a life jacket he would be alive.

I think it's ridiculous that she served time for this. There is no way to prove without a reasonable doubt that she intentionally murdered him. Keep in mind he went out there without a life jacket knowing the conditions. I think it was a tragic accident and they took advantage of a woman not from this country. They tried to paint her as some crazy unhinged person because she was trying to get her cat back rubbed me the wrong way. I would do anything to get my cat back if someone was holding her hostage.

I feel sorry for his mother's loss but I think it is easier for her to believe that her son was murdered than acknowledge her son was irresponsible and most likely responsible for his own death.

I think she's innocent. A lot of people handled this very poorly.

Doofus doesn’t wear a life jacket on the Hudson and someone is in prison for it

His mother is still convinced she murdered him after all the evidence she did not. So sad.
