Most often the Oxtail soup is good but there are times that the meat is tough; hit or miss. Broth is always tasty.

It looked delicious. You can make a fabulous ox tail casserole by slow cooking it with onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and red wine, along with any herbs etc that you enjoy it with. Cooked like that, it is a casserole rather than a soup. Thank you for the video.

Sorry you missed it the first day. Yeah, covid had really changed restaurants around the world from menus to the hours of operation. I'm glad you were able to finally try it. I am from Hawaii and it is my family's tradition to fly into Vegas late at night and the ox tail soup at The Cal is our first meal there haha.

We just got back from Vegas and wanted to save the Market Street Cafe as our last meal there before leaving.
All I can say is: Big Mistake !
We went on a Wed nite and made several calls to the restaurant to make sure we went at the right time.
The restaurant said they start serving the Oxtail Soup at 9 pm, but to get there early.
We got there before 8:30 and there was already a long line snaking to the casino.
After almost an hour's wait, the soup was a big disappointment !
It was salty beyond belief ! And served only lukewarm.
The soup was also missing carrots and celery inside.
The small side cup also did not have cilantro, only minced ginger.
Restaurant was packed with every table filled.
We had viewed several bloggers about the restaurant and none of them showed as packed including yours.
All I can say is everyone's experience is different no matter how good or bad people say about a particular place.
Maybe we went on a bad day, but others waiting in line commented the restaurant is packed like that every day.
This goes to show even the best restaurants can fall prey to their own hype and not maintain their original standards once business starts booming.
My friend says you can't believe everything you hear. You just have to experience it yourself.
Unfortunately ours was a Big Disappointment !
