Let's Learn English! Topic: Office Vocabulary and Phrases

Many people have requested an English lesson about the people and things that you find around the office, and the the words and phrases we use to talk about them. This is that lesson!

In this lesson I will help you review and learn many English words and phrases that you will need to know to talk about an office, a workplace that has an office, and the people who work there.

As usual, this will be more than a simple vocabulary lesson. I'll go over common words, but I'll also take the time to give many example sentences where I use the words in context and help you understand several phrases that are also used in an office environment.

During the lesson you can ask questions using the link that will be provided, and I will do my best to help.

I hope you enjoy this English lesson about office vocabulary and phrases!

⌛ Remember: By tomorrow this video will have auto-generated English subtitles. This can help you to go back and re-watch parts of the lesson that you did not understand.

Hello Mr Bob,
In my work life, I was always at a IT centre as an Operator. In the GDR, there were big computers with a big periphery. Printers, magnet devices, whole card machines and of course chairs with rolls at it. But the computers were not very efficient. The calculaters are better today. Nevertheless we work for creditinstitutes in whole Saxony.
Later we had laser printers and servers and worked for the finance system in Saxony.
Everyone had his own chair, because we were too lazy to justify it always new. So had every chair a sign with a other colour. I miss this time and I hate to be a pensioner. The best time in life, is the time you can work.
Thanks for the lessons and I wish You and Your family all the best.

Thanks again for the lesson, Bob. It is really useful to know all the stuff we use when working in the office. I actually do work in one. Besides if possible I would appreciate if you possible could do part 2 of the lesson with phrases that are usually used in the office, like f.e. to sign a document or to hold negotiations... Thank you in advance.
