Used to see this CNJ loco at Newark after the Jersey Central moved service there NEWARK USED to be the place to get train photos even the backward NYSW which ran through harrison yard down a ramp through the chessies yard and around to ridgewood park

Why do some diesels, like this one, have a bell that rings when they start up? Is it just an alarm to warn people the engine is starting, or is there more to it than that?

I count 8 bodies... Cant start an RS-3. And they have people lives in their hands. And no its not a D&H engine.
