A lot of schools in India do not allow bindis and are very rude to students as well as parents for wearing the bindi to school but there's hardly any outrage about it. It makes me so happy when women embrace their culture. Bindi is definitely an integral part of cultural identity

As a child I wanted a Bindi so bad, I used to glue little rhinestones on my forehead. I’m not even from India, but I always thought it was the most beautiful thing ever

It's an acupuncture point and helps to feel organised and also gives calmness

Edit: I can't find the article I'm so sorry everyone I failed .
You know, I think there's actually a scientific reason why things like bindis and other forehead accessories look so flattering on people. It's something that has to do with the precise angle and position it draws your eyes toward the perfect area of a person's face. It adds this sort of completeness, ties into our obsession with symmetry by pulling both sides of the face together. I'll try to find the study/article I read and post it (if I remember lol). But it was a very interesting read and made alot of sense.

I think it has something to do with that colour scheme. Like how they say certain colours on your skin tone can make highlight your eye bags or brighten up your face.

i always thought indian people wear bindi as symbol that they're married, like a ring for example, but recently discovered they do it cause it means that all people have a third inner eye and focuses inward toward God and i love it!! get me a bindi yall

I love when people embrace their culture. When I was a child, I always saw women who wore bindis as Goddesses. ❤

Literally my mom doesn't go anywhere without her bindi and she actually looks like a whole new person without it. I thought it was only her but now realised that bindis can really change a look are actually so attractive.

It’s hard man, especially the bindi and center part combo. It give such a symmetry and anchoring to facial features that you can get addicted to it

I'm not Indian but I wear a bindi sometimes and I always feel so pretty when I do.
Edit; Before I get hate about being white, my fiancé is Indian and he bought them for me.

Gorgeous either way! Side note, for some reason I always assumed that it was painted on or tattooed on. I never realized the bindi was removable until now! I didn’t even know it was called Bindi! So thanks to her for sharing and some of the informative comments. One of those moments where I love the internet ❤

I always wear my Bindi to every indian function I go to, I always feel so much prettier when I'm all dressed up in my cultural clothing plus, all the aunties are practically begging me to marry their sons. I love being indian 🇮🇳♥️

I think I've understood why...

When there is something big and dark on your face, the focus goes on the bindi then.
But since there is no bindi, you notice the face and how you look..
