In the episode that shows an early Corvette ( red one ) danny says they didn't sell well because they only had a 6 cylinder engine.
Well a 6 cylinder engine isn't the problem, its down to whoever tuned the things,
Because e-type jags had 6 cylinder engines and the series 1 did 150 mph and was the fastest production car at the time .
The lightweight version was even faster .
Most mass production big v8 engine yank cars didn't have much more than 100hp .
Carroll Shelby used a light bodied English sports car ( the AC ) and put a tuned up V8 in it & it was a beast of a motor the AC Cobra.
