I am a german carpenter and that thing is with me every day. Neat trick: Sharpen both sides of the lead so you can quickly turn it arround and don't have to make a mess inside the qustomers home.

My opinion is the sheath having a designed clips so it stays in your pocket, it makes the pencil one handed draw and return. That’s the best part!

Been a carpenter for 25 years. Basic wood pencil you get handfuls for free from the lumber yard is all I need. Sometimes I will lose more than one a day!

As a musky fisherman, my boat will always have 2 pairs each of German made Knipex Pliers and Cutters. I dont buy 2 pairs each because of fear of breaking. I know one day a fish is going to thrash and knock it overboard. They are essential.

Welcome to the club! They make felt-pens too with the same slim, prolonged tip to put markings inside small drilled holes. There are coloured crayon-type leads for the pencil too.
I have four of them in service, a felt-pen and three pencils, one with a regular lead two others with red and yellow for marking metal.

My grandma was German. She made money by capping bottles of beer during prohibition in Northside, Pittsburgh, when she was just a little girl. I don't know what that has to do with anything on topic, but she was German and that's awesome she gave a middle finger to the government when she was like 8
