Xiamen is a coastal city in southeastern China (part of Fujian Prefecture), known for its beautiful landscapes and mild climate. The city is known for its colonial architecture, vibrant arts scene, and Gulangyu Island, which used to be a vital international settlement zone and trading port that was outside of Shanghai but is now turned into a car-free haven with historic buildings and lush greenery. The city also serves as a major port and has a growing reputation as a tech, economic hub, and an attractive tourist destination in the region.
