Why is Summer Bloom BANNED?

This deck also had a possible turn 1 win that was enabled by bloom. If you started with a bounce land, amulet, bloom, simian spirit guide, hive mind and summoners pact you could play hive mind on t1 and force your opponent to copy summoners pact with it, causing them to lose the game on their first upkeep.

I can see why it's banned. It gets you 1/3 of the way to your Teeka's Dragon.

This is an example of why I believe that bounce lands are some of the most powerful lands in the game. Outside of Landfall decks, the only thing lands are good for is mana. Some lands have random abilities that impact the game. But normally, you're not focused on trying to gain value from your lands. But in certain archetypes, when you're trying to get value from them, the bounce lands provide the most free value. Drawing extra cards, producing extra mana, creating more landfall triggers. They do it all. Except shuffling your deck. But that's what fetch lands are for lol

I can see why its banned. A total of potential 10 mana on turn 3 with the right plays.

Turn 1: Play a forest and any 1 drop mana dork.

Turn two: play another forest and another three mana dorks

Turn two: play one more land, the fourth mana dork, and then bloom.

Three regularly played lands, three from Bloom, and four cheap mana dorks. And that's just off the top of my head sitting here neglecting my trigonometry.

That's not exactly correct, but very close. As the original creator of the deck I can say for sure the deck was discovered in 2012 for the old Extended Format.
Summer Bloom was much more powerful then you say in this video.
The original plan was to remove Simian Spirit Guide to cast Amulet. Then play a bounce land to make 2 mana. Simic Growth Chamber was the land of choice due to the next step. Then cast Summer Bloom to make 6 mana. Use this mana to cast...
1) Hivemind if you also have a Pack in hand.
2) Cast Eternal Witness if you have 2 or a Snapcaster Mage. The idea here was to cast Patron of the Moon with a spare mana. This gives you infinite mana. Use the infinite mana to draw your deck with Repeal and Eternal Witness
3) Cast Primeval Titan to get the haste combo and swing for 8. Pretty good turn 1, but in attack you get 2 Red Hideaway lands. They untap due to Amulet. You use these lands to cast another Titan or Emrakul. Whichever you find.
A) If you hit Emrakul then you pass turn to yourself and win on that turn.
B) If you hit Titan you search for 2 Green Hideaway lands. You have 14 power in play so crack them looking for a Titan, Emrakul, Hivemind combo piece you are missing or Patron. Win next turn.
Sad story was by the time I got all the cards together they ended the format. Even sadder story (all true) I ordered the last card I was missing. The Enrakul. I knew they had an Extended tournament on next Saturday. The store in Lafayette Louisiana didn't call me to let me know they had it until 11am... The tournament started at 9:30am that day. Basically they got the card... started the tournament.... Processed round 1 then called me. Saddest part is that was the last extended tournament in the state. big 💔

Would it have been better to ban "Amulet of Vigor". Cause Bloom is once, You would have to use a second card to play it again. But vigor will stay on the field and you constantly use it over and over again.
