Excellent. 2011 GTI making this exact noise (after 45+ mph, this noise kicks in when I let off the gas) -- assuming it's a failing pcv. Mechanic was telling me that I should expect to spend $1000+ on the replacement.... but looking at other pcv replacement videos it doesn't look too bad.

Hey Charles. Thanks so much for your efforts on this platform. My 2008 A3 2.0t started squealing like a pig this evening in traffic at idle and on de-celeration. A quick trip to your channel and I found this video ... Pulled the dip stick and the noise vanished.

Thankfully the last trip to the u-pick yard I pulled a bunch of spares off an other CCTA 2.0t. A easy 10mjn part swap once I got home in the shop and the little A3 is running like a charm once again.

This is why I literally cannot deal with mechanics. I took my 2012 vw cc to a shop with this exact problem and he told me my timing chain cover gasket needed replaced becauseit was leaking onto the belt. After I got the car back I could see no evidence that it had even been removed but the sound was gone. He charged me 500.00.
Now I know for sure I was right to be suspicious

Hopefully the PCV valve isn't behind the intake manifold like it is on my Mazda 6! Just finished replacing it today, kind of a pain but not the worst thing I've ever done.

If your failure was still the CCV but your symptoms not quite as severe, we normally use a manometer to measure the crankcase pressure and or vacuum. Do you know the known good or bad readings on this engine?

So when I open my Oil fill Cap, my engine starts to shut down, is it suppose to do that?

I got a question, how do you remove the valve cover gasket on this 2.0tfsi with the aluminum cover not the plastic one, it looks like the same bolts that hold on the cover also hold the camshafts :o, please help I don't find any video on this this

my oil cap comes off so easy. twice today it was off and flipped upside down ..slight oil is around the rim of ring. why is this happening and why isnt it staying on?

I keep seeing your old videos!! LOL. If I want to replace my entire PCV system because of poor idle/oil in spark plug wells (will be re-doing the VCG, etc) is there a "kit" somewhere? Like do you have an associate link or something?
