This whole "debate 20-year olds" thing would end overnight if universities would get their shit together and require invited speakers to engage in dialogue with professors trained in the topic area for some of their time on stage. Instead of "deplatforming, " the answer is something akin to an academic fairness doctrine, with tenured faculty offering context. It would expose the grift for what it is.

Absolutely _BRILLIANT_ move of him to go at the argument from a religious angle. Framing it from "their side" totally disarms them and it was clear that Walsh nor the crowd really knew how to respond. And his answer to "what is a woman" is essentially the exact same answer I would give and really should be the standard answer given to such a disingenuous question. In that vein, if given the chance, I would counter in that situation by asking something like "what is a mother?" With that example, one can extrapolate how what it means to be a "mother" isn't purely biological, but also dependant on societal expectations of what a "mother" is. Likewise, nobody is insistent that parents of adopted children shouldn't be called their "parents" because they meet all the cultural and legal signifiers of parenthood etc.

The Cambridge Dictionary's definition of "woman" is as follows: (1) an adult female human being; or alternatively, (2) an adult who lives and identifies as female though they may have been said to have a different sex at birth. If Walsh has a problem with that, go tell him to argue with the Cambridge Dictionary because it's now standard English and he's the one who is mis-defining the term. End of argument.
