I found this interesting, easy to understand and follow, and professor did a great job opening up the Toltec culture. Thank you!

The Toltec built the largest pyramid in the world by volume at Cholula and conquered more land then any other civilization in Mesoamerica including the Aztecs, Teotihuacanos, Mutul(Tikal), & Calakmul Maya. Made some of the most beautiful art and ceramics in Mesoamerica and are still a relatively obscure culture. They are criminally underrated.

I’m a little confused by some of the connections in the reference to the dates. Teotihuacan is generally accepted to have been destroyed around 650 ACE, my understanding is that the Toltecas evolved around 900 ACE and were gone by the time the Aztecs showed up around 1200 ACE. Although the ruins of both Tula and Teotihuacan were excavated by the Mexica. Although Chichen Itza seemed to be influenced by the Toltec or other central Mexican cultures, it fell from influence before the arrival of the Mexica.
