The first What If...? season 3 clip has been revealed. The Disney+ animated show is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and explores a new timeline in each episode, following what may have happened if different major turning points in the multimedia franchise had happened differently. The show is narrated by the Watcher (Jeffrey Wright) and features many of the original Marvel stars reprising their roles, including Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa, Michael B. Jordan as Killmonger, and Chris Hemsworth as Thor.

The clip opens on what seems to be a road trip where Bucky Barnes (also known as The Winter Soldier) and the Red Guardian are traveling together, though Bucky seems less than pleased to be there. However, the true nature of their predicament is revealed when they are investigated at a traffic stop, which leads to a high-octane car chase.

Or maybe season 3 could be mostly focused on individual episodes instead of trying to do some overarching plotline to tie it in with the rest of the stories going on? Like, I usually love the shared universe and continuity, but What If is the one property where that realllly doesnt fit

I think they should scrap all the live action stuff and just do all animated movies and shows like this. It’s super realistic. People wouldn’t age unless you wanted them to. They can tell any story they want and put whoever they want in it. Who’s with me???

I would love the new antagonist to be the Captain Hydra from the comics Secret Empire that tries to invade other universes.

An evil Steve Rogers from an alternate reality where Hydra rule supreme would be the perfect vilain for Carter to face, and we would see Hydra aligned heros like a Hydra scientist Stark or Hawkeye and Black Widow as assassins.

Surely it won't happen like this but noneless I'm hyped for this season 3
