I went in with doubts about LIV golf. Especially how completely awful the live coverage is handled.
But I must say I am a huge fan now, I watched every round. The format is really awesome. I love seeing these guys make bank. But most of all I enjoy seeing how happy these guys are, I imagine LIV golf is a huge benefit for their families.
Hopefully I can make it to a tournament one day.

I really enjoyed the format and production of the first LIV tournament. Super excited for pumpkin ridge. Looks like they have a great list of courses on their list. The accessibility to stream the events on YouTube is awesome too.

I’ve watched golf for 37 years, played team and county golf and this is the freshest change in golf I’ve ever seen.

Yes it was a little rough around the edges a few times, but this will just grow and grow.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Shotgun start and and the team dynamic.

Very tough course and conditions this week!

Can’t wait for Pumpkin Ridge in 2 weeks.

For me, as a spectator of sports in general this was a pleasant surprise to watch golf in a much more exciting event than what I've been accustomed to seeing, since the days of Tiger's dominance. The PGA is about as authoritative as any monopoly in business from what I have seen. In other sports the main participants, the players, get decent salaries, on the lower end and on the middle to top players, well let's say they do very well with cost sharing of all the TV revenues these sports bring in. Not so much with the PGA. Most top gofers make their most money from advertisers and maybe appearances. I hope LIV golf does very well for the players, their families and circle of people associated with them all. As for the politics that people sometimes want to talk about with the people behind the money of LIV golf, that belongs to those people who want to bring it to the surface to discuss. I rather not mix politics with any art form like sports, music or art itself. This was actually fun to watch. That was a lot of money at the end for these guys to either hit a great shot or a poor shot and it showed.

This LIV event happened at just the right time for Charl Schwartzel, his game had been getting back on track lately.
T10 at the masters, T8 at Byron Nelson. Prior to his promising performance at the Masters, he had missed 6 consecutive cuts and had very few decent finishes before that streak of missed cuts. This event happened at exactly the time that he was coming out of a slump.

I like it - never boring and you get to see the field all at once not hours apart. Best part I don't have to see some of those stupid "Segments" that have nothing to do with the tournament!

This is definitely going to attract a lot more golfers than the PGA anticipates. At the end of the day, golfing is their job. If any common person was told that they could work for 3 days and earn more than they did the last 4 years, I can't imagine many who would turn down that chance. That's what Schwartzel did here. $4.75 million for 3 days work against mostly over-the-hill golfers. That's the biggest tourney prize money in golfing history. He hasn't made that amount of money in 4 long grueling years on the PGA tour. 3 days of low-stress, fun and free-spirited golf just made him a king in his household. Anyone who thinks bigger names won't look at this result and jump ship, they have blinders on.
