I'm a cop, today was my last day of work for the week and I wasn't feeling it. in our line of work we see the worst of humanity and this week has been no different. I came into work with a poor attitude wondering if anything I do ever really makes a difference and just feeling beat down and worn out. I went to a call for an alarm on a house. Upon arrival I recognized the house as almost a year ago a lady tried to end her life by closing her garage door and running her car after writing a suicide note. nearly passing out I remembered pulling her from the car and dragging her outside. she told me how she felt as though she had failed as a mother, wife and just at life. I gave her words of encouragement and did what I could to make sure she got the help she needed. today I saw her on this call again and she just got married, new job and a new lease on life. She thanked me for taking the time that day to show her that life had so much left for her. I simply said I was glad to see things were going well for her then got back in my vehicle where this song was playing on the radio. I took something from this call and that was the importance of the role we all play in each other's lives no matter how small the role may be for how short a time, may leave an eternal impression."be the change you want to see in the world"

Woke up this morning with this song in my head. While getting reading for I was singing it. My husband asks "what are you singing? It is beautiful" and I said it is Papa Roach. He couldn't believe me until he had to listen to it himself.

If you guys dont understand and think this song isnt like their other music at all and that they've changed, you obviously missed the point to their older songs like the song "scars". Also i once saw a comment on here (dunno if its true) saying they wrote this song because they had so many people talk about how their music like the song "scars" saved their lives; which makes sense hence leader of the broken hearts. So for those of you think this song has to do with nothing of who they are its actually the opposite, it has to do with everything that they are.
