Don't clickbait me Charles, that was a public conversation, not a shutdown.

Many actors have openly condemned the lack of intimacy coordinator on set for GOT. Jason Momoa stated several times he felt very protective over Emilia Clark bc of this, and she herself has said how uncomfortable it was as well as how she’d never let that happen to her again.

I don't think men need to be objectified more. I think women need to be objectified less

He’s damned if he does or damned if he doesn’t. He seems like such a nice guy.

Natalie Dormer is also the one who spoke with directors and writers of GOT and told them to rewrite scenes where she was shown completely nude when it wasn't necessary as well as rewriting very explicit scenes where she was having sexual relations with the actor who played Tommen, who was under 18 at the time.

There is always a fine line, both are right. Men aren’t as sexualized but GOT wasn’t about the sexualization but it was supposed to be about the story

That’s less of a shut down and more of a civil disagreement

If Natalie Dormer doesn't think GoTs objectified women, she was NOT paying attention...

I think he was referring to Emilia Clarke who had, what felt like completely unnecessary nude scenes. Why did I need to see her naked in the bathtub? How did that advance the story?

- Westoros isn’t real, it inspired by history but Martin made it up and could have given it any sexual norms and practices he wanted to
- You don’t have to visually depict the exploitation inherent to your setting. Just because brothels exist in this world doesn’t mean you have to show any nudity

You got it wrong too, it wasn't a shut down

There are few tv shows that objectified women as much as GOT did it, they pressured a lot of actresses to do utterly unnecessary nude scenes

I don't see what's the issue here. He wanted to better himself for a new role. Good on him. Perhaps his motivation is off, but you can't really question the will to lose weight and change the shape of his body. And in just 6 months to boot

That's not shut down, that's a difference of opinion. This was a waste of time.

I think they are both correct, yes in medieval times women were objectify, but that doesn't always mean you need to do a 1 too 1 reenactment 100% of the time. Especially when it's very one sided in depiction.

You know....I agree with both. While it was just a realism thing IN GOT, the objectivism of women in Hollywood is still a really big thing...

They didn’t tell him to lose weight…I call BS

He lost weight and looked very good. At least part of that was for himself. Once you start getting fat, it becomes a runaway train. For men and women and Hollywood and everywhere excessive weight doesn’t sell well.

I thought that said Natalia Dyer before I clicked to see the full thing
