Hurricane Sandy made landfall in N.J. 9 years ago today

Do you remember the N.J. roller coaster that plunged into the ocean during Hurricane Sandy? Images of the Jet Star coaster became a symbol of Sandy's wrath at the Jersey Shore.

Remember seeing this coaster with colleagues on a fishing vessel out of Belmar a few weeks after Sandy. Not only was this stunning, but more shocking were the damaged homes I saw at Ortley Beach as the boat floated past there.
