Old is Gold, am a Ugandan, 🇺🇬 but I used to dodge school because of watching Nigerian movies when I was young, , those days many Ugandans liked Nigerian movies up to now, but the former movies were better and real acting, the actors were real they never had much make up, but today make up is too much u can't recognize someones face until she removes the makeup, those days we used to think movies were real and we could even cry, , and the movies were showing real African culture, the actors were the best, but the current ones they only mind about faking life, beauty, dressing and makeup but acting poor, a part from some, for sure Nigerian movie industry is the best in producing movies, much love from Uganda ❤❤❤

The hard part about watching old Nollywood movies is seeing how normalized predatory behaviors were in movies. Rape, sexual assault, sexual coercion, physical and spousal abuse, etc. It all makes my skin crawl.
