How to be productive -- it can seem like a mystery, but it doesn't have to be. There are no right or wrong ways to be productive. Instead, it's a matter of figuring out what habits work best for you and sticking to them.

In this video, you'll learn the 4 things really productive people do on a daily basis, so you can start doing them, too.

1. They're Friends With Time. If you aren't sure how to be productive but you know you want to be, start by making friends with time. Don't see it as the "enemy" that's always running out or as something you struggle against. It'll always be a source of pain in your life if you see it as the enemy.

2. They Make Their Morning Routine Non-Negotiable. Another way to feel productive is to get some things accomplished just for you first thing in the morning. Create your own morning routine and make it non-negotiable.

3. They Work Out. Studies prove that exercise optimizes your brain, mood, and ability to focus, so get 30-60 minutes of sweating into your day to amp up productivity.

4. They Don't Blow Themselves Off. Really productive people refuse to blow themselves -- and their commitments to themselves -- off. How to be productive like the pros? Dismiss distractions until you've met your most important commitments to yourself.

My #1 secret is that I remind myself every day that no day can be repeated, you cannot step twice into the same river, you have to be present in everything you do. Oh and it's also nice to know that you could die any moment so don't take anything for granted ever. These are just facts. But when I remind myself on them, they help me focus.

For me, it's about consistency. Once I break my routine, once I cheat on my diet, once I've compromised my schedule, it all falls apart for the next day or two.

First, your hair looks fab-u-lous!

Second, don't put off what you can do today, tomorrow. If you can think of something you can do today, just do it. Don't wait until tomorrow. Nobody knows what tomorrow holds!

Third, working out (especially first thing in the morning) is magic. I couldn't tell you the science behind it, but it helps me on so many levels. Just get up. When your alarm sounds just keep saying to yourself, "Get up. You are awake!"

Fourth, morning routines/rituals seem to be the keys to the castle. Meditating 20 minutes, exercising, eating a solid breakfast, and saying a prayer work for me.

Morning routine and exercise are key for me. Also, spending less time with friends who get very little done throughout the day, are ALWAYS late, and call me "no fun" and "old" because I like to stay on task.

I just started watching MarieTV this week and I must say... I've watched so many of the episodes! Time to kick myself off of the computer now. But I wanted to say that I enjoy her cussing ! It makes her more down to earth and fun. To hear an intelligent, successful woman who also says a few cuss words, makes her more real and also funny.

For 3 weeks now my non negotiable morning routine has consisted of oil pulling, hot lemon water and am working on the exercise getting added in! Thanks for breaking it down into bite size pieces Marie.

Exercising and having a morning ritual are very useful. Originally I didn't think a routine was a good idea for me, too constricting but as I started to feel shaken and distracted in my life I realised that ritualized Saturday breakfast and time with my love were the most relaxing of my week, and set me up for a great day. I started to impliment it in my weekdays, dragging my butt out of bed and getting a glass of water before breakfast and quality time with my partner helps me start my day off right.

The most important rule though I must say, even though ritual and exercise have made me more productive in consistency, taking time for myself and being good to myself is my key rule. It helped get me in a place to ponder other ideas in the first place. I would never go back. :)

in the last 6mos i have experienced a progression of my productivity at work. through the process i have come around to the same principles you have listed. really great stuff marie. if i were to add from what i have discovered it would be: 1) do things the way they were meant to be done. we always want to compromise in order to save time. this is actually counter productive and you sacrifice the feeling of full satisfaction when you succeed and did it "your way". succeeding in this way breeds a pride and confidence that feeds into more success! 2) follow your gut. this may not seem like a productivity tip but those of us who follow are dreams are familiar with the regret of not doing the things we really wish we did. even small things. these types of things show up in your life as incompletions. incompletions will hang out in your space and slow down your productivity because you are preoccupied with them. 3) be a creative problem solver out of the box thinker and find ways to GET YOUR TIME BACK!

i'm working on bringing these principles to my personal life. watching this video couldn't have come at a more perfect time. thanks marie! =)

Personally, I'm most productive when I'm keeping in mind my own limitations and capabilities and don't over-stress myself out. When you have a ton of things on your to-do list that you know there's no possible way of you completing in one day, you'll spend more time trying to fight with anxiety and procrastination, than actually doing what needs to be done. With that said, I've learned to plan things out in advance as much as possible and leave nothing to the last minute that I can just get out of the way in the present moment.

I work out in the mid/late afternoons and find that aside from physically feeling better I also mentally feel better. Working out helps me deal with stress and keeps me energized.
