That bit about dumping sodium hydroxide in the ocean made my gut wrench. I was a hair stylist for a decade, and the active ingredient in hair relaxer is sodium hydroxide. It's highly toxic, and why so many women have developed allergies, alopecia, and even cancer from long-term usage. It literally breaks down bonds in the hair, and disrupts protein (keratin) structures.. Also is extremely alkaline. This should not be consumed or exposed to flora, and fauna - I can't believe that things like this are approved for climate mitigation efforts! It's as if the destruction is intentional... If a Jane doe like me knows this, surely the folks who dumped these chemicals know even more about the affects.😫

you can get in shape I was 334lbs in May of last year and now I am 275lbs and still working on my health, and I am 100% disabled from the Army so if I can do it so can you! just get to it and good luck.

Been canning, freezing, shopping sales, buying bulk, gardening, dehydrating and praying. Don't know what else to do. We seniors being hurt by inflation. Cost of living does not look at normal living expenses.

We are bracing for the worse here in Frisco, TX! Everything's so over the top-food, gas, cars and rent is so high we are all living together. Its crazy. Doing all i can for my daughter and myself in a 1bdrm apt!! 😢 Oh, I'm 64yrs and I'm NOT giving up. Thankx for new info Chris. 💜

Spending time cleaning and organizing my hand tools. Best thing I ever did was to stop expecting my boyfriend to do the right thing & started doing them myself. The more I do the more his days are numbered. But I am getting prepped. 😊

I suspect most people are not anti immigration but rather anti open border, a huge difference.
There's so much around us that is in the negatives but helping everyone except our own is incredibly sad and adds to frustrations.

I see many people planning to plant a garden. Don’t forget to plant enough to feed your dogs if you have them. This is a great way to cut cost on dog food. I have chickens and a garden and can feed my dogs all summer with the eggs and veggies. Chickens are a great way to cut food cost for your family and pets. The chicken food is cheaper than a bag of dog food. Plus you know what they’re eating. Winter squash will keep for months if stored correctly.

I live in the southwest and have a small apartment. One good thing is my landlord has only raised my rent once in 16 years and that was $50/month. I am nearly 77 and have started prepping by buying freeze dried foods and storing some water. Since I can't store much water I bought a Zero Water filter to filter water if needed. I have a GMRS license and radios and a camping stove with propane bottles. My regular stove, water heater, furnace are natural gas. Electricity is the one shortcoming. I can't use a generator and the "solar generators" are expensive and not great. If you can't charge them, they won't last long but if electricity is intermittent they might help. Still, I feel better that I have some backup supplies (meds, flashlights, soap, food, etc).

Nature is not political, it is harsh, cruel yet kind and generous. The common part is it treats all equally, how we work with or against her determines our outcomes.

I recently bought seeds. Upon doing so, I noticed that it was required that i sign a contract that stated no seed collection from the corn and watermelon, so i went elsewhere for them. Restrictions like this are unsettling.

We need to prep, absolutely. I started when the Romeoville, IL tornados hit in 89 or 90. While I am a lifetime apartment dweller, you can still be prepared for a 3 month grid down without being excessive.
