The original spikes have to be deinstalled, but the original castors comfortably stay in place. The Cerabase B&W D3/D4 are an easy-to-install upgrade that deflect the cabinet vibrations exactly at those points where the cabinet sits on the plinth. This is a subtle, but highly effective improvement to the reknown sonic qualities of the 800 D3 and D4 models.
