Transformers, G.I. Joe, Thundercats, Masters of the Universe, Rom and Micronauts all had Marvel comics during the eighties. Marvel UK also did Transformers, Action Force / G.I. Joe and Thundercats comics at the same time. It was Marvel who came up with all the names and profiles for Transformers (Bob Budiansky) and G.I. Joe (Larry Hama) plus Marvel Productions produced the cartoons as well.

I had some of the micronauts. My buddy had a ROM. They're actually SEVENTIES toys, created before Reagan's FCC opened the doors to making TV shows that were, essentially, commercials for toylines - so they never got TV shows, only Marvel comics.

Ah, the GI Joe/Transformers mashup makes me wonder what could have been if the transformers and GI Joe movies had been well written. Now, Hasbro has apparently shelved all plans to make a "Hasbro Cinematic Universe" because nobody watched Rise of the Beasts or Snake eyes or even Transformers One (as awesome as that movie was).

There is an anime from the 80's called Ronin Warriors and to my surprise, Matt Hill, who had voiced Ed from Ed Edd N Eddy, voiced Ryo in that series! Also, Mobile Suit Gundam was in the 80's too.

The level of detail, the sheer size and scale...I love it all. I wish I had like a tenth of your skills. Just a tenth. I have all these ideas for my own fanfictions and whatnot and, when I visualize the characters, I can write better. AI is the devil, but it helps me visualize.

26:32 Marvel comics did a Thundercats comic first running for 24 issues between 1985 and 1988 plus Marvel UK published a 129 issue run around the same time.
