Best EM videos on youtube! Awesome work!

Big Aha moment. The single charge position derivatives of subsequent orders never vanishing for sinusoïdal functions really nailed it for me. Awesome explanation. Thanks a bunch.

This is how I have always imagined EM waves to work. E causing H and vice versa. This should mean there's a phase shift of +/-90 deg between E and H, because when one is at its peak, the derivative is 0 (like sine and cosine).
BUT, as it has recently occured to me after many years, in an EM wave both E and H have the same phase (in a vacuum). This is stated and depicted in many sources, but I haven't found a clear explanation as to why. Supposedly this is the solution of Maxwell's equations and there's no causal link between E and H. I am really confused.
