Honestly, now I’m interested in a story where eggman just invades while Sonic’s asleep, like there’s no way he wouldn’t memorize Sonic’s sleeping pattern, but I guess sometimes they’re friendly so maybe he’d see that as dishonorable, and maybe his ego is so high that he’d feel that victory would be unearned and didn’t feel like a grand enough way to best his rival
