To all people that don't understand where he came from to get picked 13th all of a sudden, the thing is that he hadn't come to America to make draft workouts for the teams to see him up to about 2 weeks ago. I hear he had some very good workouts and his stock rised very rapidly, so much so that he was expected before 20th. A 7'2 19 year old guy that can run the floor has a good touch with his hand, can shoot it and has good basketball IQ? How many better Center prospects are there in this draft? Give this kid an NBA gym and you'll see in a couple of years.

People are comparing his beginning to Kristaps. He ain't Porzingis. He won't be a similar story to Kristaps because of the position he is at right now. Good luck to him finding minutes in a fully loaded 5 man Center rotation.

The NBA really needs centers eh?
Dont get me wrong, the young man has potential, he's pretty technical for his height... But he's still very unprepared. Experienced guards will fly past him all the time.
He can develop into something good I believe, but I actually also believe that Koufos had more talent in his age, if that is an indication of the future.

Horrible pick. Kings don't need another center. They already have Cousins and they drafted Stein last year. Should have gotten a perimeter player.

To clear up all the confusion on the comments, 2 things are true:
1) Papagiannis was indeed the second best center prospect in the draft and one of the best talents in the draft in general. So if you are against the pick because he is not a good player I assure you that you're wrong.
2) Sacramento Kings do not need a center and most haters of the pick are hating it mostly because kings already have good centers and they are right about that, so when they say "what the fuck are the Kings doing?" they are not dismissing Papagiannis as a talent but the fact that Kings picked a center in general (they'd still be right to say that even if they picked Poeltl).
