Toyota has a customer service phone number and website you can contact to voice a complaint. I did this regarding a Camry engine belt tensioner that broke while the dealer was replacing the fan belt. The dealer told me, sorry, you gotta' pay for a new tensioner. I called Toyota to complain that it was the dealer's fault, not mine. Toyota agreed and reimbursed me for the cost of the new tensioner. This intermediate shaft issue may be a case where it'd be a good idea to contact Toyota.

I’ve noticed putting hub caps on steel rims it throws the balance off and makes the car shake like CRAZY
Cuz snow and ice gets stuck between the caps and rim.
Best to not have hub caps in winter weather anyways

Steel Rims work better in snowy winters where they use salt on the roads .
Aluminum rims will corrode from salt and can leak around the edge of the tire .
Youll see it a lot up here in the Rust belt .

Never turn the wheels when the engine ( power steering) isn't running. Power steering shafts aren't made to be muscled without power.

Scotty admitting that Toyota is cheapening out making some garbage hurts his soul. We all know how he would’ve trashed the company if this was a Chrysler, Nissan, Kia, BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen etc with the same issue. 😂😂😂

Totally agree with you Scotty K. I am supposed to get my 2023 Toyota Cross tomorrow ( or this week maybe) due to the snowstorm here in Ontario we are getting as we speak. I heard these steering noise iarereally common on the whole car line. Hmmm. Never had that with my 07 Dodge Caravan. Keeping it too! backup. Runs like a dream, all new suspension, wheels, never had an issue with in. EVER. Love your show. We used to cross over at Lewiston al, l the time back in the day. We always got ripped off for vehicles here in Canada. Just the way it is. England is worse. For everything there!

snow tires should always go on all 4 wheels for proper cornering and braking

Don't listen to Scotty, buy 4 winters and you won't regret it. Or you can buy two like Scotty said and if you have an accident send the bill to Scotty.

You should always put 4 snow tires on a car. In a FWD car, if you put them on the front only, the car will want to fishtail in slick conditions.

When radial tires first came out they were excellent, in the 70's, 80's and 90's we never needed snows, and I live in snow country. After using bias ply snow tires for years these new radials were amazing. In my opinion the advent of stiff, wide, low profile tires has made the newer all season tires useless in snow and ice. Just my opinion based on lots of driving experience.

My wife and I have a Scion XB before we went to a 213 Mazda CX-5. That Scion went through two master brake cylinders. Both were covered by warranty. The 2013 CX-5 had about 80k when we upgraded. Nothing was ever done to it except routine maintenance and one recall which was a software upgrade. We're still stuck on Mazda.

Scotty is the brand ambassador of Toyota. They don't dare to make him mad or ELSE he'll use his publicity and millions of followers to expose them

It all depends on the fine print in the warranty card. There's no use in complaining if your warranty is void.

I had the same thing happen with a new Camry. I drove a lot at the time and had put 95K on the car in about 2 years. I forget now what the issue was, but something failed/broke that cost me $1200 to repair. And it also had a squeak near the back window since new that they could never fix. So after the $1200 repair on a 2-year old car, I traded for... a Chrysler. I drove that Chrysler for 175K and never had any issues whatsoever. I traded it for another Chrysler and had no issues for 150K miles. I only left Chrysler (for Honda) because they stopped making a model that suited my needs.

We live in northcentral BC and it is law to have snow tires on all four wheels from Oct 1 to April 1. Whether 2 wd or 4wd makes no diference.

I’ve had two Highlanders, 2010 and 2015 that both had intermediate steering shaft failures. I would’ve thought Toyota would fix the problem in newer models. Disappointing!

The winter rims shown are clearly new and not used from a junkyard as Scotty stated.

My wife, (girlfriend at the time) bought an '86 Celica GT-S brand new, and she was putting too many miles on it, so I noted the tachometer was at 3300 RPM at 60 MPH, and then disconnected the speedometer cable for two years! It was easy to do back in the day!! LOL!!
