Though cannibalism is the common phenomenon of Arachnida. Social life can be observed in spiders. Social cooperation of arachnid sociality arboreal Indo-African spider genus Stegodyphus, observed solitary as well as periodically and permanently social species. The species inhabit dry thorny bush country, living in colonies in compact, sponge-like silk nests found mostly in thorny trees. I found it solitary in the spongy web where left cuticles of many insects like locusts, moths, flies were entangled. This spider is famous for its dispersal by ballooning. I kept this creature in my garden for further observation.
